My Story

Sports have been a major part of Dr. Darren's life since his youth. He played baseball and soccer from a young age and later developed a passion for long-distance running as an adult. His journey into running began during his military service where he served as a U.S. Army Paratrooper, using many of the same qualities he learned there to complete some of the most challenging 100-mile endurance runs in the country. This passion for pushing his physical limits led him to explore interests in human physiology, performance, recovery, and optimal nutrition.

Runners from all over the world take on this challenge, pushing their bodies and minds to the limit in pursuit of this achievement. With each race presenting there own unique set of challenges, completing the Grand Slam is a test of endurance, perseverance, troubleshooting and mental toughness.
